How to Install OTTPlayer on LG Smart TV (WebOS & NetCast)
Install OTTPlayer on your LG Smart TV using a USB flash drive. Supports LG WebOS TVs (2014+) and LG NetCast TVs (2011–2013).
LG WebOS TVs (released 2014 and later) can run OTTPlayer as a widget installed from a USB drive. This method does not require any developer account or special software on your PC — just a USB flash drive formatted to FAT32.
The extracted files must be at the root level of the USB drive, not inside a subfolder. Verify this before connecting the drive to your TV.
If the widget does not appear immediately, try pressing Home again or wait 10–15 seconds after the USB notification appears.
To save any setting, select the OK button on the on-screen keyboard and press OK on your remote. Pressing Back without saving will discard your changes.
LG NetCast TVs (2011–2013 models) use a different platform from WebOS. The installation method is similar but uses a different package file. The steps below apply to LG NetCast TVs.
Important for 2011 LG models: The USB drive must be inserted into the upper USB slot labeled "USB APPS". Using the wrong USB port will prevent the app from being recognized.
After any setting change, always press the Red button to save. Pressing Back will lose all unsaved changes.
Easier Alternative: Use a Fire TV Stick via HDMI
If the USB installation method seems complicated, an easier solution is to plug an Amazon Fire TV Stick into your LG TV's HDMI port. OTTPlayer installs in minutes using the Downloader app with code 1117533.
This works on any LG TV with an HDMI port — no USB, no account setup, and you get the full Android TV experience with automatic app updates.
