How to Install OTTPlayer on Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)
A complete guide to install OTTPlayer on Samsung Smart TVs running Tizen OS — compatible with 2016 and newer Samsung models.
Compatible Samsung models: This guide applies to Samsung Smart TVs released in 2016 or later running Tizen OS. Older Samsung TVs running Smart TV (pre-2014) or the Orsay platform are not supported. Check your TV model in Settings → Support → About TV.
On some Samsung remote models you may need to press 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5 in sequence on the numeric keypad. The dialog should appear within a few seconds of pressing the sequence.
What you need: A PC or Mac with Tizen Studio (free download from Samsung) installed, connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Samsung TV.
Make sure your PC and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If the connection fails, try temporarily disabling your PC's firewall.
After logging in, your playlists sync automatically from ottplayer.tv. Make sure you have already linked a playlist to your account on the OTTPlayer website before opening the app on TV.
Easier Alternative: Use a Fire TV Stick or Android TV Box
If the Tizen Studio method seems too technical, the simplest way to get OTTPlayer on your Samsung TV screen is to plug in an Amazon Fire TV Stick or any Android TV box into your Samsung TV's HDMI port. OTTPlayer installs in minutes on Fire TV using code 1117533 with the Downloader app.
This method works on any Samsung TV with an HDMI port — no developer mode, no PC required, and you get a full-featured Android TV experience with the latest OTTPlayer version.
