Install OTTPlayer on Fire TV, Android TV & Google TV

A clear, step-by-step guide to install OTTPlayer on Fire TV Stick, Android TV, Google TV, and any Android TV box — including the easy Downloader code method.

Recommended method for Fire TV Stick: Use the Downloader App with code 1117533. This is the fastest and easiest way — no USB drive or PC required.

Part 1 — Enable Apps from Unknown Sources

Open Fire TV Settings

From your Fire TV home screen, press the Home button on the remote, then navigate to Settings (the gear icon in the top navigation bar).

Select "My Fire TV"

Inside Settings, scroll right and select My Fire TV (on older models it may appear as Device).

Open Developer Options

Select Developer Options. If you do not see it, first go to About, then click the Fire TV name several times until the message "You are now a developer" appears.

On older Fire TV models, Developer Options may be listed directly under Settings → Device.

Enable "Install Unknown Apps" for Downloader

Inside Developer Options, find Install unknown apps. Select Downloader from the list and toggle it to ON.

Part 2 — Install OTTPlayer via Downloader Code

Find and Install the Downloader App

Use the Fire TV search bar and search for Downloader (by AFTVnews). Install it for free and open it.

Enter the OTTPlayer Downloader Code

Once the Downloader App is open, you will see a URL or code input field. Type the code below and press Go.

Downloader will use this code to navigate directly to the OTTPlayer APK download page — no need to type any long URL manually.

Wait for the Page to Load, Then Download

After pressing Go, the Downloader App will open the OTTPlayer download page automatically. Wait a few seconds, then select the Download button and wait for the APK file to finish downloading.

Install the APK

Once the download is complete, a prompt will appear asking you to install the file. Select Install and wait for the installation to finish — it takes about 30 seconds.

Open OTTPlayer and Add Your Playlist

Tap Open to launch OTTPlayer immediately, or find it later in Apps → Your Apps & Channels. On first launch, go to Settings, enter your ottplayer.tv login credentials, and your M3U playlists will sync automatically.

To move OTTPlayer to the top of your home screen: press and hold the app icon and select Move to Front.

Android TV and Google TV both support the Downloader App method (easiest) and the direct APK sideload method. The Downloader method is recommended as it does not require any files on a USB drive or a computer.

Method A — Downloader App (Recommended)

Enable Installation from Unknown Sources

Go to Settings → Device Preferences → Security & Restrictions and enable Unknown sources. On some Android TV models the path is Settings → Privacy → Security → Unknown Sources.

The exact location varies by brand. On Google TV (Chromecast), go to Settings → System → Developer mode to enable it.

Install the Downloader App from Google Play

Open the Google Play Store on your Android TV or Google TV device, search for Downloader by AFTVnews, and install it.

Open Downloader and Enter the Code

Launch the Downloader App, tap the input field, and type the OTTPlayer code below. Then press Go.

Download and Install the APK

When the download page loads, tap Download. After the download completes, tap Install on the installation prompt and wait for OTTPlayer to install.

Launch OTTPlayer and Set Up Your Playlist

Tap Open to start OTTPlayer. On first launch, go to Settings and enter your ottplayer.tv login details. Your playlists will load automatically. If you don't have an account yet, register free at ottplayer.tv.

Method B — Direct APK Sideload

Download the OTTPlayer TV APK on Your Phone or PC

Visit the OTTPlayer download page on your phone or computer and download the Android TV APK file.

Copy the APK to a USB Drive

Insert a USB flash drive into your computer, copy the downloaded OTTPlayer APK file to it, and safely eject the drive.

Plug the USB Drive into Your Android TV

Insert the USB drive into any available USB port on your Android TV device or TV box.

Open a File Manager and Navigate to the APK

Use a file manager app such as FX File Explorer, Total Commander, or any pre-installed file manager on your device to browse the USB drive and locate the OTTPlayer APK file.

If your Android TV device doesn't have a file manager installed, download one from the Google Play Store first.

Tap the APK File to Install

Select the OTTPlayer APK file and tap Install. If prompted about unknown sources, allow the file manager to install apps and confirm installation.

Open OTTPlayer

Once installed, find OTTPlayer in your app list and open it. Add your M3U playlist from the Settings screen to start watching IPTV on your big screen.

Compatible devices: This guide applies to Android TV boxes such as Xiaomi Mi Box, NVIDIA Shield TV, Mecool KM3, Formuler, and similar Android-based set-top boxes. The installation steps are essentially the same as for Android TV above.

Verify Your Box Runs Android OS

Confirm your TV box runs Android TV or standard Android. Non-Android boxes (e.g., Apple TV, Roku) cannot install APK files — OTTPlayer is only available for Android-based devices in this category.

Allow Installation from Unknown Sources

Navigate to Settings → Security and enable Install unknown apps or Unknown sources. This is required to install any APK file outside of the Play Store.

Install the Downloader App

Install Downloader by AFTVnews from the Google Play Store on your TV box. Open it once installed.

Download and Install the APK

When the download page loads, tap Download. Once the file downloads, tap Install to complete the installation on your TV box.

Launch OTTPlayer and Import Your Playlist

Find OTTPlayer in your app drawer or home screen and open it. Go to Settings and sign in with your ottplayer.tv account, or import your M3U playlist directly. Enjoy IPTV streaming on the big screen.

On some TV boxes, newly installed apps appear under All Apps. Pin OTTPlayer to your home screen for quicker access.

NVIDIA Shield TV users: The Shield runs Android TV and fully supports OTTPlayer. Install it via Google Play (search "OTTPlayer") or use the Downloader code method above for the latest version.
